Michael Young: Chief Security Officer (CSO)
As Chief Security Officer (CSO) for the ILI Legal Group, Michael Young is the guardian of our digital assets, responsible for ensuring a robust and impenetrable security posture across our international legal network. His mission is to protect sensitive client and firm data, maintain the integrity of our digital platforms, and ensure compliance with global data protection regulations.
Michael’s role is critical in a global legal environment where information is the most valuable asset, requiring a proactive and sophisticated approach to cyber risk management.
Key Security and Compliance Responsibilities:
• Digital Defense Strategy: Michael designs and implements the overarching security strategy for the entire Group. This includes comprehensive protection for all Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, proprietary platforms, and data held by our member firms.
• Platform and Communication Security: He is directly responsible for securing all digital touchpoints, including firm websites, internal and external email systems, proprietary legal platforms, and any other technological assets used across the international Group.
• Data Protection and Governance: Michael ensures strict adherence to international data protection protocols and regulatory standards (such as GDPR and other national equivalents). He develops and enforces the policies that govern how client and firm data is accessed, stored, and transmitted.
• Threat Intelligence and Resilience: He leads the firm’s strategy on identifying, mitigating, and responding to emerging cyber threats. This includes managing security audits, overseeing incident response planning, and promoting a Group-wide culture of security awareness and best practices.
In essence, Michael’s leadership ensures that the ILI Legal Group and its clients can operate with confidence, knowing our digital environment is secured against the most sophisticated modern risks.
