International Banking and Treasury Expert

Alfred Johnstone is a seasoned international treasurer with a distinguished career spanning major global financial institutions across many major financial centers. His journey began in London, working for Lloyds Bank International before being headhunted by Goldman Sachs International. Due to his exceptional professionalism and diligence, he was appointed the roving Treasurer for all of Europe, covering key financial centers like Zurich, Paris, Milan, Frankfurt, and Madrid. He then spent a number of years at Goldman Sachs & Co. Bank, Zurich.
He then went on to found and head the Treasury function at Zurich Insurance Company, eventually leading a 7-man Front Office team and achieving the rank of Executive Director at the age of 32. While there, Alfred successfully rolled out SAP Treasury globally, was responsible for over 400 companies daily, and was a key liaison for major merger transactions. He possesses deep expertise in all financial instruments  and foreign exchange, serving as an advisor to the Board of Directors, the Group Finance Council and reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Following his tenure at Zurich, Alfred joined Credit Suisse, Zurich, where he managed a regulatory bond portfolio exceeding USD $50 billion and served on the board of Credit Suisse Guernsey and Credit Suisse, Luxembourg. He was promoted to Vice President before leaving to start his own I.T. company.
Expertise
His core competency is in world markets, supported by an extensive working knowledge of accounting, law, economics, taxation and he is our key liaison on International estate management issues. He also advises on all Thai visa types. He is fluent in German (especially Swiss German) and has a working knowledge of French, Italian and Spanish. And is constantly improving his present language skills. He is also currently learning Thai. In addition he also acts as our final arbiter in translation of foreign documents in all of the above mentioned languages. 

Interests & Philanthropy
In his personal time, Alfred is a passionate advocate for conservation, with a focus on tree planting in Scotland and France. This work has led to him receiving the honorary titles of Lord Johnstone of Dunfermeline, Scotland and Alfred, Duke of Bologne. He also holds a number of honorary Captaincy titles in a number of European armies. He is a Captain of the Order of Malta (tracing its origins to the Knights Hospitaller).
